Three principles we wish every consumer knew

  1. State minimums are almost never enough. They were set decades ago and don't reflect modern medical or repair costs.
  2. The same coverage costs wildly different amounts at different insurers. Shop at least 3 every 12 months.
  3. Insurance is risk transfer, not investment. Buy as much coverage as you need to protect what you can't afford to replace.
